Private Training
Training a dog is an important commitment, not only for the safety and happiness of your dog, but for your happiness as well. A well-trained dog is easy to live with and welcome out in public. Training, and maintaining good behaviour, does not happen overnight which is why we require a minimum commitment to our Basic Training Package. Setting aside the time for initial training, and the required follow-up and homework, will ensure that we can meet your training goals and both you and your dog will walk away happy!
All of our lessons are private and conducted in your home and neighbourhood. Although we do require that you purchase a minimum number of hours of training time, each lesson may last 30, 45 or 60 minutes at a time, depending on your schedule and needs. Within 48 hours of each lesson you will receive an email containing reminders of what was learned in that lesson, and homework goals.
Training Package Options
Basic Training Package:
- Initial 45 minute consultation in order to have the time to answer questions, establish goals, and set-up a training plan.
- 4 hours of private training broken down into 30, 45, or 60 minute sessions depending on your schedule and needs.
- Email reminder, and homework plan, sent within 48hrs of each lesson
*Consultation and private training must be used within 12 weeks of the purchase of the package. Exceptions to these timelines can be made at the discretion of the trainer and must be made in writing within 10 weeks of the purchase of package.
Cost: $430**
Advanced Training Package:
- Initial 1 hour consultation during which time questions will be answered, goals established, and training plans discussed.
- 6 hours of private training broken into 30, 45, or 60 minute sessions depending on schedule and needs.
- Email reminder, and homework plan, sent within 48hrs of each lesson
- Unlimited email support during the course of your training and for 3 months after training is completed.
*Consultation and private training must be used within 14 weeks of the purchase of the package. Exceptions to these timelines can be made at the discretion of the trainer and must be made in writing within 12 weeks of the purchase of package.
Cost: $725**
Deluxe Training Package:
- Initial 1 hour consultation during which time questions will be answered, goals established, and training plans discussed.
- 7 hours of private training broken into 30, 45, or 60 minute sessions depending on schedule and needs.
- Two 30 minute training walks during which time your trainer will take your dog on a 30 minute walk to work on agreed upon training skills. The client does not participate in these walks but the walks will be followed by a 15-20 minute discussion about what was accomplished during the walk and suggestions of things the client can do to address the skills worked on.
- Email reminder, and homework plan, sent within 48hrs of each lesson
- Unlimited email support during the course of your training and for 6 months after training is completed.
*Consultation and private training must be used within 14 weeks of the purchase of the package. Training walks must be used within 18 weeks of purchase of package. Exceptions to these timelines can be made at the discretion of the trainer and must be made in writing within 12 weeks of the purchase of package.

Ultimate Training Package:
- Initial 1 hour consultation during which time questions will be answered, goals established, and training plans discussed.
- 6 hours of private training broken into 30, 45, or 60 minute sessions depending on schedule and needs.
- Two 30 minute training walks during which time your trainer will take your dog on a 30 minute walk to work on agreed upon training skills. The client does not participate in these walks but the walks will be followed by a 15-20 minute discussion about what was accomplished during the walk and suggestions of things the client can do to address the skills worked on.
- Two overnight board and train stays at the trainers home to work on agreed upon training skills/socialization/house training/walking etc. Dogs must be crate trained (or in the process of crate training) and non-aggressive towards other dogs.
- Email reminder, and homework plan, sent within 48hrs of each lesson
- Unlimited email support during the course of your training and for 1 year after training is completed.
*Consultation and private training must be used within 14 weeks of purchase of the package. Training walks and overnight board and training must be used within 18 weeks of purchase of package. Exceptions to these timelines can be made at the discretion of the trainer and must be made in writing within 12 weeks of the purchase of package.

Board and Train: (limited availability)
Occasionally it makes sense for a dog to stay with the trainer for a set amount of time to address more advanced training. There is a minimum of a 3 night stay and dogs must be crate trained (or in the process of crate training), and be non-aggressive towards other dogs. The length of the stay will be discussed, and greatly determined, by the amount of time the trainer feels is necessary to address the issues with success. Unlimited email support will be provided for 3 months following board and train.
Based on the issues being addressed we also require that clients agree to a minimum number of hours of training in their home following the board and train stay in order to ensure that the training done in the trainers home can be maintained by the client. This is an additional charge and the amount of time required will be discussed before Board and Train is agreed upon.
Cost: $250/night**
Puppy-Proofing your home and shopping for supplies:
If you are new to puppy ownership, need help getting your home puppy-proofed, or perhaps or are just not sure what you need before brining your new puppy home we are available to help. We can help you set-up your home so your new puppy will be safe and happy and can even take you on that important shopping trip to purchase everything you will need prior to bringing your new puppy home. From advice on crates and exercises pens, to appropriate toys, treats and food. We can make sure you have everything you need to make your new puppy happy and safe in your home!
Cost: $65/hr**
Booking and Refund Policy
If you are ready to go ahead with training we are always available for an initial free phone consultation to discuss your needs and decide which package is best suited for you. Payment for all packages must be made before the first in-person consultation occurs. Should you for some reason decide during the initial in-person consultation that you do not wish to move forward you will receive a refund for the package you purchased minus the cost of the consultation. ($50 for 45 minute consultation and $65 for a 1 hour consultation). There are no refunds after the initial in-person consultation has occurred.
